Amber Waves

I’m really drawn to texture, especially when it comes to plants. A few years back, I photographed beach grass on one of our camping trips to Maine that reminded me of the neighboring waves, so when I drove over to my dad’s house for coffee and saw the wild grass in the area he had worked on clearing the year prior, my camera and I took a little walk.

We moved last month. After five years of marriage, we moved into our fifth home together – a house! A home! It feels really good to be able to paint walls without the looming task of repainting in our future. It’s nice to exhale in the luxury of being able to settle.

It’s also nice to have our own little piece of property, where I can look out the window and see the sun working it’s magic as it sinks in the sky and run out, barefoot, to bask in that golden light.

We have big plans for our little blue house, but we’re in no rush. We’ll be here a while 🙂
